California Vision Foundation (CVF)

California Vision Foundation (CVF) is a non-profit optometric charity dedicated to providing access to quality eye care to the medically underserved populations of California. CVF reaches low-income, working, uninsured families in California with free comprehensive eye exams and low cost glasses through its program known as the California Vision Project. American Diabetes Association (ADA)

The American Diabetes Association is the nation's leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information and advocacy. Founded in 1940, the American Diabetes Association conducts programs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, reaching more than 800 communities. The mission of the organization is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.


The American Foundation for Vision Awareness (AFVA)

The American Foundation for Vision Awareness (AFVA) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to educating the public about their vision, to creating awareness of quality eye and vision care and to supporting vision-related scientific research. The AFVA awards research grants and scholarships, conducts public service projects and provides educational materials to the public.


American Optometric Association (AOA)

The American Optometric Association is the premiere authority in the optometric industry. With more than 32,000 members in 6,600 U.S. and foreign communities, the AOA leads the way in its mission of improving the quality and availability of eye and vision care everywhere. Founded in 1898, the AOA is a federation of state, student and armed forces optometric associations. Through these affiliations, the AOA serves members consisting of optometrists, students of optometry, paraoptometric assistants and technicians.


California Diabetes Program

Established in 1981, the California Diabetes Program is a partnership between the California Department of Public Health and the University of California, San Francisco and is funded primarily by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Guided by national and state goals as well as community input, the program is a coordinating leader for hundreds of multi-sector partners at the individual, community, health care, policy, and environmental levels.

The College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) is a non-profit, international membership association of eye care professionals including optometrists, optometry students, and vision therapists. Established in 1971, COVD provides board certification for eye doctors and vision therapists who are prepared to offer state-of-the-art services in -- Behavioral and developmental vision care; Vision therapy; Visual rehabilitation


InfantSEE(tm) Program

InfantSEE is an American Optometric Association public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child's quality of life. Under this program, member optometrists of the American Optometric Association will provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment within the first year of life as a no cost public health service.


National Eye Institute (NEI)

The National Eye Institute (NEI) was established by Congress in 1968 to protect and prolong the vision of the American people. As one of the Federal government's National Institutes of Health (NIH), the NEI conducts and supports research that helps prevent and treat eye diseases and other disorders of vision. This research leads to sight-saving treatments, reduces visual impairment and blindness, and improves the quality of life for people of all ages. NEI-supported research has advanced our knowledge of how the visual system functions in health and disease.


Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA)

The Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, International (NORA) is a group of committed individuals from various disciplines focused on advancing the art and science of rehabilitation for the neurologically challenged patient. Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation is an individualized treatment regimen for patients with visual deficits as a result of physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and other neurological problems. It specifically treats acquired visual dysfunctions as determined by standardized diagnostic criteria. The treatment regimens encompass medically necessary compensatory and non-compensatory lenses and prisms with or without occlusion and other appropriate strategies.
